I have been to Paris for the first time in October 2010. We stayed for five days and it was apparent at that time, and when I look back at it now, that it wasn't enough. Five days, five short days and after almost two years, I still haven't forgotten how it looked, and most especially how it felt like. I've seen it in autumn, I'm sure spring will be another kind of beautiful.

En route.

We don't have bacon here in Saudi Arabia so whenever we're out of the country I make sure I have them almost every breakfast. Heh.

We stayed at a hotel called Cristallo up in the mountains so we have this view when we look out our window. It was always beautiful whether it would be snowing,

or not.

Cortina is the second ski town I've been to, first being Aspen. Both of them has this certain charm - the quaint and charming kind that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Then you shop and everything's expensive and then all of that goes away.

Then you take a walk and you fall in love with it over again.

Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. Well, except my pocket. I have a few film rolls to go through in the next few days, meanwhile, here's a picture of David Beckham in his bottoms. Come back again, soon!

a.k.a. Badly Exposed Photos Of The Sunset

This was en route to London last January. It was the first trip where I brought (save for my iPhone 4s) only my Canon A1 to take pictures. I just had my rolls developed today and while I only have a handful of decent shots compared to the hundreds I would have taken with my DSLR, I'm still happy with the results. Film and its unfathomable charm has definitely found its way to me, and I don't think it will go away (I don't want it to go away) any time soon.

I am posting another stock photo. I am still in London but we'll be flying later today to Cortina, Italy. So far, I'm on my second roll of film and have not even once, regretted leaving my DSLR. Fuck yeah.

This was taken still in Spain, on a ride home from Malaga to Marbella. This was around 8 or 9 in the evening already--the summer days seem to be longer in that part of the world as the winter nights are here in London. I like the latter more than the former.

First London summer

I experienced London for the first time in Summer 2010. I have been there for quite a number of times already but it just doesn't get old. I find something to love about it every time. I'm going back there tomorrow so here's a photodump. Stills taken almost 2 years ago when I first went with my relatively new Canon 450d, my 50mm, and my kit lens. This trip, I'm thinking of leaving my DSLR and bringing my film camera instead. Wish me luck. Heh.

I had my day off last Saturday. I spent half of it sleeping and half of it running errands. I don't really trust public transport around here and women aren't allowed to drive (which isn't really applicable to me cause I don't know how to lol) that's why whenever I go out, I usually have a driver to take me wherever I need to go. He's that guy. We don't understand each other half the time but I reckon he's nice.

I have fallen in love with photography, again

In my case, one camera, 2 lenses, and one film. I am getting familiar with emotions that I haven't encountered with photography in a while. I even think I have fallen in love with it, albeit in a different light, all over again.

I must admit that I am, for most parts of 2011, very emotional. I don't think I have ever longed for home more than I ever did, every time I hopped on a plane to visit another country other than my own. Although I sound tired and whiny, I really am grateful for the year that was. 2011 reinforced my beliefs on what really matters most.

Here's to the places we went, all the places we'll go, and to finding out where we really belong. Here's to 2012!

I am ages late but I cannot not finish WTA. I recently bought a film camera and just had my first two rolls printed today. This was one of the few that turned out how I wanted it to. Heh.

I've actually taken this picture for the purpose of WTA but an Anon in Tumblr asked for a picture of my favorite spot in my room sooooo I posted this (forgot to post it here after, sarreh). This seems familiar because I already uploaded a couple from this spot before, heh. It's my favorite because not only is the light alright (the only window in my room is beside it), but it houses my books, my snitch, my Beatles alarm clock that I rarely use, and my new roommate - a goldfish named Jack that you'll meet soon. I'm rambling.

Anyway, welcome Nova, and Carlo who has just recently joined WTA. :) I've been gushing to Phillip how this project has grown and how it's exciting it has been to have these guys do this with us. I couldn't ask for better classmates. :)

The drive from Brescia to Milano is like an hour long. I am not one to complain when the view from where I was sitting was breathtakingly made up of such beautiful vineyards and mountains. Italy is as beautiful as you would think it would be. :)

I’m in Italy for the second time this year. We’ve been here for almost a week already; that’s almost a week of no rice (except for a couple of nights we had chinese take-aways) and almost a week of pasta. Ugh, you can take the girl from the island but you can’t take the island from the girl, yo.

We had lunch at this restaurant (whose name I can’t pronounce) a couple of days ago. But I remember it was in Garda, fronting the Lago Di Garda (pictured above). The view was priceless but I’d still choose Liempo over that €40 steak any time. :p

Where the magic doesn't happen

I’ve been sleeping into different hotel beds for the past (almost) 4 weeks. I am told that I am lucky to have a job that takes me to different places but sometimes, in quiet times, I still feel like there’s nowhere I’d rather be than 1) home and 2) in his arms.

It’s been such a busy week, alternating packing and unpacking and getting on and off airplanes. Work is fucking work and it doesn’t help that I miss everyone.

Ugh. So I had the whole week to take this week’s photo but (as usual) I’ve been hella busy with work and with sleep thus the crappy outcome. :p Also, this was taken with my iPhone cause we’re actually leaving for Aspen tomorrow and unknowingly the wire needed to connect my camera to my laptop is already on its way there - our luggages left early. :|

I’m not sure if I played this week’s theme very well, as obviously you can see more than 2 colors LOLOLOL.

Let me just say I dislike this week. I’ve been in London this past 3 days and this city is overflowing with what could have been photographed for this week’s theme but alas! I don’t have THE time.
Anyway, at least I tried. :p This is what you’ll see when you’re outside looking up at the Imperial College of London building.

Phillip and I decided to have a weekly themed assignment. I figure I can learn from him and the various types of style there is to explore, photography-wise.
